Tour Payables - Accounting Associate II

Hybrid Opportunity - Ability to come into the office 1-2 times per week as needed

ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Accounting Associate II – Tour Payables, you will be responsible for managing tour invoicing across multiple regions, including North America, South America, Africa, and Asia. This involves reviewing invoices, validating details such as rates and passenger counts, and uploading them into Oracle.

This role will also require collaboration with other departments utilizing various systems to validate invoices. A keen investigative mindset is essential, as you will work to piece together financial details—much like solving a puzzle—to ensure accuracy and compliance.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED

• Intermediate Excel experience (basic formulas, pivot tables)
• Working experience MS Office, Adobe Pro and fundamental PC/Systems skills
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to problem solve

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS PREFERRED

• Working knowledge of accounting principles, general ledger account structures, accounts payable processes, and controls including payments and refunds
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field and/or 3-5 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience with Oracle Payables or similar program preferred
• Travel industry experience preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Providing timely and accurate payments to suppliers and agencies to maintain a strong reputation of financial responsibility and integrity
• Invoice validation using a variety of resources such as Three-way match
• Manage Payments Across Multiple Methods & Currencies (Check, ACH, EFT, Virtual Credit Card)
• Accurately post invoices at the task level, ensuring alignment with project accounting requirements.
• Provide outstanding customer service by investigating and resolving payment-related questions for tour invoices.
• Furnishing management with the necessary analysis for planning and control of GVI tours by analyzing cost variances.
• Maintain a full-cycle understanding of processes to support team members and contribute to workgroup goals.
• Understanding and supporting work area goals and objectives with the knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of work area duties

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Finance department is overseen by the Chief Financial Officer. Our mission is to both protect and grow the business. The department consists of five groups: Revenue Accounting, Accounts Payable, General Accounting, Cost Accounting and Oracle Financial System Support. The group is responsible for providing strategic insight and supporting our strategic imperatives through several critical processes including the monthly, quarterly, and annual publishing of financial results, preparing travel agent commissions, processing vendor invoices, credit card processing, tax compliance, treasury, cost accounting, completing operational transactions, and financial analysis.
