Steel Detailer- Location: Golden, CO or Loveland, CO office (either one)

SD/S2 Experience
Salary- $27-$37 an hour
This position offers a unique work environment where detailers collaborate closely with engineers and construction managers throughout the design process. The goal is to deliver economical, well-integrated projects to clients and owners. We seek individuals interested in a variety of project types, challenging work, and an innovative approach to project delivery.
We are interested in hearing from:
- Experienced commercial detailers
- Engineers with an interest in the steel industry and learning steel detailing
- BIM modeling experts with experience in various BIM software, including SDS/2, Revit Structure, and Tekla
Required Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher, or equivalent industry experience
- Authorized to work in the U.S. now and in the future without sponsorship
- Strong math and geometry skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Willingness to work with structural steel and architectural miscellaneous metals
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and share workload
- Availability for overtime as needed to meet project deadlines
- U.S. citizenship or equivalent required
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-5 years of experience in detailing or the steel industry
- Basic engineering knowledge
- Familiarity with Revit
- Experience with SDS2 software
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Solve design and detailing challenges
- Read and interpret structural and architectural contract documents
- Create 2D shop drawings, erection plans, and field details
- Model in SDS2 3D software
- Implement AISC and OSHA requirements for fabrication and erection
- Apply standard practices of the steel industry
- Work with multiple fabricators and understand their standards
- Write and interpret RFIs
- Collaborate with engineers and construction managers
- Identify changes and revisions, reporting cost impacts to project managers
- Manage schedules and meet project deadlines
