Senior Financial Analyst

Hire Connections is proud to be working with one of Colorado’s most prestigious hospitals located in Denver, Colorado to fill a Senior Financial Analyst role for a 3-month contract role. They are recognized as a National leader in Level I emergency and trauma care!

Summary:

This position plays a key role in supporting financial planning, analysis, and reporting for healthcare programs and initiatives. The analyst will leverage data from hospital systems to deliver meaningful insights, assist with budgeting and forecasting, and contribute to high-impact financial projects. Healthcare experience is required, and familiarity with SQL reporting is a plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial & Operational Analysis (25%):

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis for business cases, program expansions, and operational performance.
• Develop financial models, including ROI calculations and pro forma income statements.
• Visualize key metrics and financial trends through charts and graphs.
• Monitor and evaluate project outcomes, making recommendations for improvements.
• Collaborate on business line reviews and operational analyses.

Budgeting & Forecasting Support (25%):

• Support department leaders in the development of annual budgets and forecasts.
• Utilize financial software tools to track variances and analyze trends in staffing, supplies, revenue, and expenses.
• Prepare personnel budget impact assessments and assist in building budget assumptions.

Reporting & Variance Analysis (25%):

• Participate in monthly hospital-wide financial reporting, including variance analysis and financial statement preparation.
• Produce timely and accurate reports for executives and department leaders.
• Deliver actionable commentary and insights aligned with the monthly close process.

Specialty Finance Focus (25%):

• Lead one or more specialty finance areas such as:
• City Operating Agreement
• Program Expansion Analysis
• Budget System Management
• Benchmarking (UHC)
• Executive Presentation Reporting

Qualifications:

• 3–5 years of experience as a senior financial or business analyst
• Strong background in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting
• Proven ability to analyze complex datasets and develop actionable insights
• Healthcare industry experience is required
• SQL reporting experience (Preferred, but not required!)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
