Job DescriptionJob DescriptionPrincipal Engineering Designer – Englewood, COPLEASE READ THOROUGHLY TO AVOID REJECTIONExperience: Minimum 4 years of relevant land development or public works experience with BSCE degree, or minimum 8 years equivalent industry experience. Minimum 2 years supervisory experience required.Eligibility: W2/1099 Candidates Only. No sponsorship available.Location: Chula Vista, CA (Relocation assistance may be considered case-by-case).Education: BS in Civil Engineering (preferred).
Must-Have Skills:
  • Previous experience at an Engineering Consulting firm
  • Land development-specific experience (Residential, Multi-family, Corporate campus, or Public Works)
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Bluebeam
  • Experience in preparation of grading, public improvement plans, technical studies, PS E, and regulatory plans
  • Supervisory experience
  • Knowledge of jurisdictional codes and procedures (preferably in Los Angeles and Ventura County regions)
Position Overview:We are seeking a Principal Engineering Designer to join a fast-growing civil engineering consulting firm. This is an opportunity to work alongside a highly collaborative team on landmark land development and public works projects in the Los Angeles and Ventura County region while being based in the San Diego area.Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare grading and public improvement plans from conceptual design to final documents supporting residential, multi-family, and corporate campus development.
  • Oversee preparation of technical studies and site plans for entitlement processing.
  • Develop Plans, Specifications Estimates (PS E) for public infrastructure improvements such as streets, sewer systems, and storm drains.
  • Conduct site assessments, engineering design studies, and regulatory plan processing.
  • Guide projects through Los Angeles and Ventura County Public Works procedures.
  • Perform constructability reviews and support construction phases.
  • Supervise and mentor engineers, designers, and project support staff.

  • Experience working with public agency requirements
  • Experience preparing exhibits, studies, and final plans
