Job DescriptionJob DescriptionWe are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Payroll Specialist in the construction industry at our Big Bend, Wisconsin location. The role is entirely on-site and will involve liaising with the HR manager and CFO.
Responsibilities:
• Execute weekly payroll procedures for a large employee base
• Facilitate the onboarding process for new union members on a monthly basis
• Input and upkeep of employee payroll data in HRIS systems and Excel, transitioning to Paylocity
• Ensure precise tracking and reporting of union benefits, certified wages, and dues
• Generate and submit mandatory union payroll reports
• Address payroll-related inquiries and audits
• Uphold confidentiality and accuracy in all payroll records
• Work in conjunction with HR and accounting teams to ensure seamless payroll operations.• Minimum two years of experience as a Payroll Specialist or in a similar role
• Proficiency in full cycle payroll processing
• Familiarity with HRIS payroll systems
• Experience in handling multi-state payroll
• Ability to manage payroll for over 500 employees
• Knowledge of payroll garnishments
• Experience with union payroll
• Strong skills in payroll management
• Proficiency in payroll tax reporting
• Experience with Paylocity is a plus
