Job Description

We are seeking a Mechatronics Intern to join our Pueblo, Colorado team for the summer of 2025. This individual will learn how to operate in a real mill setting and interact with plant personnel, as well as external suppliers and contractors to execute manufacturing based projects.
Must passionately follow health and safety practices
Maintain, analyze, and draft reports related to data and performance
Interact with all levels of personnel and communicate professionally in written and verbal form
Read electrical schematics and perform electrical assembly
Pneumatic component and controls assembly
Safety protocol and sensors including light curtains
PLC programming
Sourcing and purchasing automation components
Electro mechanical diagnostic activity
Working with production to implement new equipment
Vision System programming to replace human Inspection
Plan and document control system design, test, verification and maintenance documents
Maintain good attendance and perform other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Pursuing a technical engineering degree
Strong written and oral communication skills
Computer literate in Microsoft Suite and Power BI
Heavy industrial experience, preferred
Be curious and eager/open to learning new skills
Ability to organize and motivate teams for safe, high-quality results and maximum productivity, preferred
Ability to work in a physically demanding manufacturing environment, which will include inside and outside environmental conditions
Term
May-August 2025, following commencement of Spring Semester
Compensation
Undergraduate experience $22.55 - $24.72 per hour
Graduate experience $25.41 - $26.17 per hour
