Job Description

In this role the successful individual should be able to inspect, troubleshoot, and repair structural and pipe components or related equipment to specifications. These tasks will involve different tools and/or machinery related to fabrication. The candidate will need to be able to read repair documents, manuals, blueprints and schematic drawings to determine work procedures. The individual should also be able to track work using our computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Inspect installed systems or structural/piping components using different tools and/or methods
Read hydraulic, structural/piping and building blueprints and schematics
Assemble/weld or secure structural components, pipes, tubes, fittings according to specification
Measure and mark pipes and structural components for cutting and bending
Plan layouts for installation or repair to specifications
Select materials for installation or repair according to specifications
Inspect and test welds and equipment; determine if repairs or new equipment is needed
Write and follow detailed work instructions and give feedback in a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
REQUIREMENTS:
3G or 3F experience, up to 3GR certification preferred and able to pass an onsite welding test
Knowledge of specific welding processes such as TIG (GTAW), MIG (GMAW) and ARC (SMAW)
Carbon Arc Gouging /Welding (CAW) experience
Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime
Ability to work in an environment subject to fluctuations in heat, humidity, fumes, odors, dust and noise
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings and engineering plans
Ability to set up, tear down, and rebuild piping
Ability to operate jib, mobile and cab operated or pendant control bridge cranes
Ability to use a natural gas or acetylene torch to pre-heat/post-heat and cut
Ability to operate power band saw, metal saw and iron worker
Ability to use all sizes of air impact and electric wrenches, all pipe fitting tools and equipment; i.e. sockets and ratchets, hoists, both electric and manual; jackhammer; cutting torches; welding equip.
Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
Strong communication skills; Ability to effectively and professionally communicate with internal and external customers.
Strong problem solving and analytical skills
Basic math skills, some exposure to Geometry, Trigonometry preferred
Attention to detail
Prior forklift experience or willing to obtain an EVRAZ forklift certification
Skid steer (Bobcat) experience or willing to obtain an EVRAZ bobcat certification.
Man lift experience or willing to obtain an EVRAZ man lift certification.
Be able to work at heights in a man lift, on ladders or elevated platforms.
Perform all duties in a safe manner in compliance with all local, state and federal regulations and company policies
Ability to withstand prolonged physical exertions including standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, squatting, bending, kneeling, climbing and working in awkward positions and tight areas.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
PREFERRED:
4 years experience in Heavy Industrial Plant Maintenance or Heavy Fabrication
6G or 6F up to 6GR certification
Specific Training on Bearing Maintenance, Inspection and assembly
Specific training to set up tracking programs with documents, tasks and procedures using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
Familiarity with predictive maintenance tools (vibration analysis, thermographic imaging, ultra sound, laser alignment, etc.)
