Wember is looking to fill a position for Assistant Project Manager who can work closely with a Project Manager on public sector projects (library, fire stations, police, schools) in the Colorado - Denver area. The candidate will be responsible for supporting our team to oversee multi-million-dollar projects from initial planning through design to construction close-out. The candidate will be integral to the project team including the owner, architect, contractor, and various consultants.
Job Description: Assistant Project Manager
- Typical Years of Experience: 4-10 years.
- Typical Education/Credentials: Bachelors in industry related field of study
- Supports the Project Manager and Program Manager
- Projects may range in quantity, size, budget, and complexity
- The assistant project manager serves in a support role to the team on the project from inception through completion. The assistant project manager prepares portions of project documents, assists in schedule updates and financial monitoring. May perform some design and construction reviews along with attendance at meetings. This role requires taking a lead and independently managing various project elements.
Responsibilities (specific duties include, but may not be limited to)
- Assist Project Managers in tracking project budgets, organizing and filing critical project information
- Work to ensure the team and project succeeds
- Supports the Project Manager and extended team
- Assemble RFPs for design, construction, and other services such as surveyors, geotechnical, movers, furniture, and other contractors
- Attend design and construction meetings, take notes, and track items through to completion
- Create field reports
- Assist in tracking permit status and other necessary department reviews through to approval
- Assisting in the review of pay applications and invoices on behalf of a client
- Filing documents for record keeping - including onto our One Drive Server and Owner Insite (online project management software)
- Creating a project directory of all team members’ contact info
- Have an overall understanding of the project scope including a high-level understanding of project drawings
- Assist the Project Manager to review the drawings for coordination for any owner purchased items such as furniture (ex. power and furniture are coordinated)
- May need to assist the owner in finding equipment quotes and ordering any owner purchased items and assisting in tracking and delivery
- Actively assist in move coordination
- Assist in filing all documents requested for closeout from the Contractor
- Assist in filing out warranty forms

- A Degree in Construction Management, Estimating, Civil Engineering, Architecture or related discipline
- Good driving record and reliable vehicle as much time will be spent attending meetings and construction sites

- Software skills including Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, MS Word, Excel and Microsoft Project
- Project experience with multi-million-dollar projects - public and/or private
