Job DescriptionJob DescriptionJob Title: General Production - Machine OperatorsJob Description: We are a manufacturer of plastic products in the blown film industry located in Hudson, WI. Our products serve the Agriculture, Medical, and Manufacturing industries. In this role, you will be responsible for operating one of three blown film lines. This labor-intensive and fast-paced job involves operating, loading, and palletizing large plastic rolls into smaller sizes.
Pay: $20/hour
Shifts Available:
- Day Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Night Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM (includes a $1/hour differential)
Responsibilities:
- Operate shaft hoist
- Load cores, tape, and tag rolls
- Handle, package, and palletize rolls
- Replace trims and switch barrels
- Conduct quality control and identify defective products
- Load and maintain scrap conveyor
- Label, box, and load 50-pound plastic rolls
- Change cutting knives on the machine
- Package rolls after indexing them from one core to another or maintain a machine that indexes rolls automatically
- Package products according to customer specifications and company standards
- Observe rolls for splices and changes
- Collaborate with other packers to keep production lines running
- Ensure correct counts, rolls of film, and supplies according to job specifications
- Notify lead or supervisor of production defects as they occur
- Assist lead or supervisor in changeovers or setting up production lines
- Follow quality specifications when packing products
- Maintain a safe and clean workplace
- Sustain productivity and quality standards
- Follow all OSHA requirements and standards

Work Environment: Production laborers must be able to adjust to changing priorities and multi-task effectively. Our facility is growing rapidly, and we have recently purchased a new machine, creating the need for additional hires. The workspace is generally clean and well-maintained, although it can get warm during the summer months due to the heat required to melt resin beads. The environment is not climate-controlled.
